Powerful New Combination Truck Revolutionizes Sand and Grit Removal
A powerful new combination cleaning system, designed to effectively remove sand and grit in a variety of difficult cleaning conditions, has been introduced by Polston Applied Technologies of Sarasota, Florida.
The 2013 Polston PAT 949 Combination Truck is a multi-purpose cleaning truck that utilizes the Polston Process® to provide a complete, stand-alone cleaning system for large diameter lines, digesters, grit chambers, lift stations, water treatment plants, ponds, lagoons, and other difficult-to-clean environments.
The PAT 949 delivers up to 425 horsepower, giving maximum horsepower to each of the components and enabling it to pump/separate sand and water at up to 2,500 gallons per minute. This power provides the capability to remove sand and grit at depths of more than 27 feet, and to clean large diameter pipes—far exceeding the capability of standard vacuum-only cleaning systems.
This heavy-duty truck can perform with equal efficiency in surcharged conditions, thereby allowing the facility to remain completely “on-line”. No shut down is needed, no bypass pumping is required, and the process operation does not have to be taken out of service, resulting in tremendous savings of time and money.
The PAT 949 features an extra-long hydraulic knuckle boom crane, with up to 49 feet of reach from the center and 180-degree rotation—to access even hard-to-reach places with ease. Built tough to accommodate the extra weight of heavy debris tank solids, this new Polston truck operates using a closed-loop and non-odor emitting design.
