Kline’s Services, Inc. Produces Its First One Million Kilowatt Hours of Electricity

Salunga, PA—Phase II of Kline’s Services Renewable Energy System Project was the installation of a methane digester and a generator to produce electricity. The methane digester takes organic waste from a large number of food manufacturing facilities collected by Kline’s Services and turns the waste into a methane-rich biogas. This biogas is then used to fuel engine generators set to produce 600kW of electricity all year round. The food-waste generated power will provide 4 times more power than currently consumed by Kline’s Services. The excess generated electricity will be net metered through a substation currently on Kline’s property.

On Monday, August 6, 2012 at approximately 6:30 am, Kline’s Services methane digester and generator together hit the milestone of the first 1,000,000 kilowatt hours produced. With the first day of electricity generation being May 3, 2012, it only took Kline’s Services three months to produce this milestone generation of electricity through their Renewable Energy System Project.

Kline’s Services Inc. has been servicing customers in the South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland areas for over 55 years.
